Using Curved Templates For Feather Spines

Sally Terry

If you like to keep things a bit more consistent and regular across the quilt top, grab a curved template to help guide your hopping foot when machine quilting small spines for feathers and other shapes.

Used the 6"-7" Terry Twist ruler here. This helps you machine quilt nice smooth curves because you can gently reposition it as you go to make your stitching graceful and curvy. As you know a little fabric adhesive on the back of your ruler keeps it from slipping, yet you can reposition it easily.

Hope this helps,

Yours in the love of quilting, Sally
